Overview of the Wandering Merchant Event
by itoki on Wed May 20, 2009 4:16 pm

During this event, monsters will drop ruined armor, which can be deconstructed with a reducing tool set into component parts.

Rotten leather armor can be reduced into components for Summoner armor.
Shabby cloth costume can be reduced into components for Magician armor.
Rusty chain armor can be reduced into components for Hunter armor.
Broken metal armor can be reduced into components for Warrior armor.

There is also a chance when reducing ruined armor that you will end up with junk items.

Take your component items to Wandering Merchant Christoph at the Yak Farm near Horizon. He will craft items for you if you bring him the materials.

Main materials: Piece of leather, fabric, iron, or metal.
Sub materials: Leather string, thread, wire, or strong wire.

Costs for trading:

Rank 2 Armor - 2 Main, 5 Sub
Rank 3 Armor - 5 Main, 10 Sub
Rank 4 Armor - 10 Main, 20 Sub
Rank 5 Armor - 20 Main, 40 Sub
Rank 6 Armor - 40 Main, 80 Sub

Keep in mind that only the components of your armor type are acceptable for making that armor type. For instance, if you are making warrior armor, you must turn in Metal and Strong Wire. No other components will do.

All armor obtained from the Wandering Merchant is +10, Level 10, grants +15 Vitality and lasts for 30 days from the time it is obtained.

Items in this event can be traded, sold, etc., but cannot be put up for auction.
